BTW, bringing your old lady to this, is kinda like, taking her out to hooters, and it just happens you get the waitress with the shortest shorts and the biggest knockers in hooters history. ALso, bunch of geeky guys there, sure its wise to bring your lover to one of these things? just be warned, if she ditches a geek like you and come back to tennessee with a nerd like me:)

Ted - We just brought on a new gaming chair and he will be looking for GMs for the Con. I will get his contact information for you. As a GM, you may be eligible for a discounted membership in exchange for a minimum number of hours as a GM.

Ardenius - the LAN room will be monitored continuously from start to finish by people that will have most likely have a rig there as well. The environment is safe and in all the years that I have loaned my rig for the LAN gaming room at Cons, the worst that happened was some dork spilled his Dew on my mouse and he was flogged within and inch of his life and he replaced my mouse. There may be a discounted rate for those donating PCs - right now I have arraigned for the pre-pay price of $25 for the event to carry through to the day the Con starts, which will be $40 by then.

We have discussed a group rate for [HOOD] members and that is currently the early bird pre-pay price pf $25 up to the actual Con start. The membership rate will go from $25 to $30, then up to $40 as the Con gets closer. These things take money to run you know.... Wink

One event we must all participate in will be the Capture the Flag on Saturday night.... we are still deciding what the "teams" will be .... Star Wars vs Star Trek, Fantasy vs Sci-Fi, PC gamers vs Console gamers...

Rooms will be dorm rooms and the price will be very nice as compared to a hotel room. We are working out food details now, and things are looking well for reasonable costs there as well.

I've always wanted one of those silk screened "Hood" hoodies ths will be
a great opportunity to have Ryndog make me one . Another bonus ,it
seems from the spokane web site that you have some decent single track
mountain biking in the area . I think I may make a week of it and explore
some of the uncivilized areas .

So everybody used a ladder and Tehdude hung over the roof ? Boy the reasons
to go to this thing keep piling up . One question are there any camp grounds near
town ?

so this is going to be an actual CON con.... like norwes and rusty over here on the western side of the state? kewl, been to em before, loads of fun, yeh, just make sure to bring some of that stuff that the guys in the morgue use to put under their nose... it definately can get smelly specially if ya go to the "dance" floor.

most of these events you can get some pretty decent schwag from the dealers rooms if yer into fantascihippy stuff...

Yup, exactly, except there are many different factors that will make SoCon a totally different con. One being using a college campus, with each building hosting different event, and also using the dorms for people to stay in. Usually cons are at hotels. This will be like a vacation on a college campus.

The Con will have shirts available, and I like the idea of a special [HOOD] hoodie that can only be gotten at the Con, as part of "HOODFest" Smile

- cunning plan, wrap HOODFest inside a Con, all we have to do is show up. Well, I'm a on the ConCom and so is RynDog (which is my fault) so a couple of us are working.

And... Cons survive by wonderful volunteers - helping out is a great way to say thanks - even if it's set up and or tear down. It all helps.

Since it's on campus, How about a college like emblem with HOOD, Spoklan, and NWGA around it? kind of a take on the University Emblem thingys.

This with SPOCON above it, NWGA sidways down the right, SpokLAN sideways down the left, and [HOOD] underneath.

Well there you go. I nominate Ryn then. as for the nwgamingalliance deal, my preference would be for it just to be mentioned as "part of the nw gaming alliance." NWGA isn't a tag, or a clan.

Tim and I were thinking of a NW area map silouette in the background with NWGA over the top of it as a logo for the website. But maybe beyond that the [HOOD], DFTA, SKJP and GUN tags maybe around it in a circle...if we add more groups then they get added to the circle.

Sounds cool, though my preference is to avoid NWGA as an acronym.

I want to make sure that [HOOD] and +SKJP+ and others are emphasized, nwgamingalliance.com is just the place we can all go for gaming announcements (not just BF2, but all games those in the alliance are playing), stats, blogging, general forums (I would think specific forum items would remain as is... i.e. HOOD is more adult, Spoklan.net is more family oriented, =GUN= is more 2142), and gaming community news (almost like a place to post local gaming news, like a local digg).

You know how so many companies are now "part of the longwanger group", or whatever.

I am still trying to work it all out, but hopefully others can see what I am trying to accomplish (and maybe help definite it further).
