[HOOD] prices will be less than the normal rate, and I think normal is $40.00 at the door, and our discounted price is around $25.00 but I can find out and make sure of those numbers. So don't quote me on those yet.

Lodging, food and all the fine details are coming together as we speak. so we'll post those as we can.

Here is some of what I do know;

The Con will also have real food available 24 hours a day, to go with 24 hour gaming (Both RPG, and LAN), and in one area, a BAR with booze even. But it has to close from 2am till 10am. Friggin laws.

There will be a BBQ, catered food, food vendors, inside and outside activities, two D&D tourneys, two 40K tourneys, tons of open gaming events, board games, panels (Education sessions) on art, gaming, anime, software games, etc....

It really is an all purpose Convention for Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and it'll be a blast.

Add to that the [HOOD]Fest and it's gonna rock this town..........

As for the wife comments; I do get a little sassy with folks, but Jay is the only one I have a beef with, and we've already determined not to go there again. So if I say something that seems derogatory, it's not real, it's a joke. And even then I would only go there if I was absolutely comfortable with who I was talking about, or who was talking about me.

For instance, Patmann and I have talked about my Significant Other, and his SO, but not taken offense, because I know he won't take it seriously, and he knows I roll that way as well.

I KNOW you might take it in fun, but not when there has been tension over the Jay thing, so I won't go there with you. Not till I am absolutely sure it'd be taken in jest. I'm not there yet. So that is why I was a little freaked by where that came from. All good?

If you want to go against MAC or anyone, Ive got the systems set up and ready. I have four of them in my 'control center' all with BF2 and what not.

Far as charging for the event goes, i think Klown should have to pay triple on everything since hes in Glory and Beer now and not HOOD Razz

I'm understanding that there will be a staff member in the room at all times if you do want to bring your own machine. There will be machines available to play on as well. I will have mine there for that purpose as are several others from SpokLAN who have pledged the use of theirs.

By then who knows...I may finally be upgraded to a DX10 card Smile

Okay... since I'm the LAN gaming chair for SpoCon here is how this works at Cons.

Gamers, such as yourselves, donate the use of their gaming rigs, and if we get some corporate sponsorship we'll have more. A user account called SpoCon gets set up that has 'super user' powers, but not admin rights. that is the only account that will be used. You will likely end up with 'evaluation' versions of games on your system.

When you donate the use of your gaming rig, it will be available for any paid con member to try out what ever happens to be the currently scheduled game is. We'll hold a few tournaments through out the the day. There are rules like "no food or beverages" at the computer - unless it's yours, then that is up to you.

The room is monitored 24/7 by gamers like us - volunteers from SpokLAN.net, NWGamers.com, and any HOODies that wish to put in a few hours helping out. Our overnighters will likely be the under 21 monitors, people that myself and MasterWoot from NWGamers trusts.

As a system donor, you are listed as a volunteer, and will likely qualify for the volunteer rate for membership, and your badge number will be put into a drawing for some "thank you" gifts we will be rounding up from sponsors.

I have personally donated my rig for years to RadCon and InCon (RIP) and never once had any issues with the system.

For everyone else:

Your Con membership gets you into all Con events, panels, gaming, access to the food available, and yes, the Big Ass Room Party of Parties Friday and Saturday night.

"Rooms" will be dorm rooms - two different types, and the cost is currently $40 a night for up to 4 people. That is less than 1/2 what you pay for a hotel room.

Registration and room reservation along with the forums for SpoCon should be up very very very soon Smile

[HOOD]Fest is an event within an event. There are number of groups that schedule an annual gathering / meeting / etc at a Con. Down at RadCon, the regional Star Trek club has their annual meeting, elects officers, and make plans for the upcoming year. Room and time will be set aside for an official [HOOD] meeting or what ever the hell you want to call it, probably sometime on Saturday - although we will seek one another out starting Friday no doubt. Cons accept these group gatherings to be totally honest as it brings people and we love to have your money... err.. I mean membership for the year. Wink

Plus, for every [HOOD] member that comes, they will likely bring along family and or friends - which means more people and more successful event.

Okay... just make sure you have the time off, start saving up if you need to, and plan on a crap load of fun and cool stuff for a great weekend.
